More Hilton Head Pictures

An Ibis with 3 eggs in its nest.

This Ibis is ready to munch on a crab!

Did you know Horseshoe Crabs have blue blood?

This beauty is an Egret, very graceful.

A little Blue Heron. I hope we can return to Hilton Head this fall.

Gwen I don't think I have ever seen a horseshoe crab and that is interesting that his blood doesn't turn red once it hits the air. I will post the banana bread w/ blueberries on my blog later today

I didn't know about the blue blood, that's interesting.

Yes, very nice photos, Gwen. I have never seen a horseshow crab in person either and never knew about the blue blood...I wonder if it's kind of like the squid? Some people drain their "ink" (after they're dead) and then use it in painting...(yuk)

We have tons of those Egrets here as you probably know from my blog. I love watching them dig for food and flock on the trees...sometimes those trees by the lake are full of those big white birds.

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a wonderful place. No wonder you want to go back :-)
