Baby Blob

Here is the story of Blob....

Hi my name is Blob.  I am a crochet toy, made  with cotton yarn and stuffed with polyfil. I have tag like arms and legs like those other tag toys. I am fun for babies to have around, since I am bright, cheery and cotton soft.   I can be used for chewing or bathing since I can get wet and go in the washing machine.  Did I mention that I am cute and adorable too?

and of course we had to add color, so they are turquoise green spritz cookies ...
so cute and fun to eat!! And ever present when activity is afoot in the kitchen...

New Items

As the unpacking ends, the organizing and sorting begins... I had so many clips, flowers, clip accessories made ready for the next step.  Here are some of the new items for my shop....

Finally, I have unpacked my sewing machine, I needed to hem some sheers my mom bought for the house.  Then I had a few of these cut and ready .....

They are cord keepers and are very handy to have around.  I found them on this sewing tutorial.
A fun quick sewing project perfect for beginners.  Then I made two new project bags ....

They are a small size version, perfect for that one skein project, like a cowl  or socks.

Felting and Extra Yarn

I have always wondered if I could make a purse with 109 yards of wool.  I have had a design living inside my head for quite awhile.   So over the summer, I bought one ball of Gina from Plymouth Yarn Co.

It is a lovely worsted weight yarn, so I made my purse.  Ready for felting, but even further back I started working on this wool Granny Tote. All I had left to do was make the handles.  I made them wove in all my ends.

Now having two items to felt all the more fun.  And here it is....

I used Patons Classic Wool in Old Gold, Magenta, Dark Grey Mix and Dragon Dance.

It is basic granny squares, crocheted together, I made the handles this way so you could wear it as a back pack.  A cozy tote for all our library books this winter.

We picked up this cute story and will have revisit it in the drab days in February.  As for the little purse that is a design submission and will be out and about eventually.

Gifts Goods from Summer Crochet

Here is the afghan I had been working on this summer, it went to the beach,  and up north to see family, I finally finished it along with this cute little elephant.  Over the holiday weekend, I happily gave my cousin and her baby boy their gifts which they loved.

The elephant is a free pattern from Shawna Borst.  It is well written pattern very concise and you can find it here.  I made this one with Vickie Howell's Cottonish by Bernat.  For the afghan, I used Bernat Softee Baby, in color Grey Marl.
